Not Just a Destination.
A Living World.

The Bijagós is not a tourism stage set or an artificial theme park. It is an extraordinary Atlantic archipelago where wild nature, vast estuarine mangroves, rare marine species, and an ancient matrilineal civilization coexist in quiet harmony.

"Where the ocean breathes with the pulse of ancient tides."

Recognized globally as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Bijagós encompasses 88 islands and islets off the coast of Guinea-Bissau. In these waters, sea turtles return to ancestral nesting sands by the tens of thousands, while wild hippopotamuses navigate the ocean waves in Orango.

The Bijagó people hold profound spiritual custody over their territory. Sacred islands remain undisturbed, governed by customary rules and traditional ecological knowledge that have protected this biodiversity for centuries.
